If you've ever been a Bill Cosby fan, you'll know that he was the face of Jello Pudding for a long time. Even more endearing was the fact that his interaction with the kids was absolutely entertaining, down right hilarious, and seemingly 'real'.
Unfortunately, despite the 'tastiness' of the jello pudding, the ingredients IN it were, not so much so. If that wasn't, isn't and not likely to be a concern of yours then feel free to ignore my unedited observation. But if you have any interest whatsoever in what you and your kids eat, you will want to take at look at the nutritional label, more importantly the ingredients. And while it isn't the absolute worst thing in the world, prolonged ingestion of them and other similarly 'unnatural' foods do add up and spell trouble for your health in the long run.
So, by adding way less liquid and more avocado than I probably should have, to my protein smoothie, I created this puddingy goodness! Yea, I know you just made a face at and thought "yuck!" But don't knock it until you've tried it and when you do and realize you love it, just remember you owe me. :)
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 1/2 oz frozen banana
3 1/2 oz avocado
1 cup ice (optional)
2 scoops vanilla whey (I used Dymatize Elite Gourmet Vanilla)
dash of cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
4-6 oz unsweetened almond/coconut milk
Method:
Place first six ingredients in a blender and begin processing. Slowly add milk until blender combines everything into a smooth pudding like consistency.
Scoop out into a bowl and eat immediately or place in freezer for 15 minutes if fresh bananas were used.
